Who is the target audience?

Most of the people visiting this site will be involved with NWTC in some sort of way: whether they are students, family/friends, faculty, or businesses looking to potentially hire students.

Since they are mostly familiar with NWTC's brand already, I wanted the site's color scheme and typography to reflect that.

What is the message?

This website is being used to inform users about everything they would need to know about this event. That includes the date and time, as well as some information about each program being showcased.

The design is meant to display this information as appealing and easy to understand as possible.

For example, the date and time is the first thing users will see on the homepage besides the hero section. I added the AOS animations to that area, just as a way to catch the eye because it's probably the most important thing that they need to know.

What is the goal?

The goal isn't only to provide awareness about this event, but to generate enough interest so that people will want to attend. A poorly designed website could be a reason why people choose not to attend, who otherwise would have.

I have a couple of design patterns that are consistent across multiple pages. For example, the card images that are used for the programs page have the same styling as the ones in the archive page. Also for every page besides the homepage, its h1 is styled the exact same way.

What are the CTAs?

Most of the CTAs are to view the programs for the showcase. These are either included as buttons within the hero, or as buttons alongside the description of each program. The contact page also has an aside that is dedicated to clicking on each program.

The only other CTAs are to use Google Maps and to submit the contact form.

Design Summary

Most of the content is in a two-column grid, or a one-column grid on smaller screens. Laying it out in this way allowed me to position each element where I wanted, with grid-gaps providing enough breathing room for each item.

The colors unapologetically mimic those on NWTC's own website, as a way to really associate this site to the actual Portfolio Showcase event.

I wanted similar sans-serif fonts to the ones that NWTC uses. All of the fonts are designed to be similar, if not the exact same as NWTC's.
