In order to solve early financial woes, the Packers began selling shares to the community in 1923. Those sales allowed the team to remain intact for the time being. Green Bay Packers, Inc. is the publicly-owned nonprofit corporation that owns the Green Bay Packers, with over 500,000 stockholders. These stockholders can't profit off of these shares, however they do vote for the team's Board of Directors.
